Before you apply

Impartial information, advice and guidance, is offered by our recruitment team that focuses on your current and future needs, which is essential for your ongoing success. MTC staff aim to give you all the information required to make an informed decision about your future. This includes apprenticeship progression routes, engineering career opportunities and the skills you need to undertake the various programmes at MTC, ensuring you start on the right path to a successful career. We will support your application for an engineering apprenticeship by helping you find a suitable company that matches your engineering career aspirations. You can contact us for recruitment information, advice and guidance on 024 76 647 564 or email us on apprentice@the-mtc.org

During your programme

Learner support – You may, at some time, have a problem that is either work related or personal, which you feel you cannot discuss with your supervisor or MTC trainer/assessor or one of our dedicated apprenticeship co-ordinators. It often helps to talk it through with someone else. If you wish to discuss your problem in confidence, you may want to talk to one of our dedicated Support Team. With their experience of dealing with personal issues, our staff can help with any guidance you may need. When you speak to them, be assured, your discussions will be treated in the strictest confidence.

Assessors – During your engineering apprenticeship your company will be assigned a work place Assessor. The Assessor will be your main point of contact from MTC and will help support both you and your company in delivering a quality engineering apprenticeship. Your Assessor will visit you in your company on a regular basis to review your progress along with your company.

Prevent

Prevent is part of the UK’s counter terrorism strategy which seeks to identify and support those at risk of becoming drawn into radicalisation or terrorism. If you have any concerns please contact our safeguarding team on safeguarding@the-mtc.org

MTC advocates, promotes and teaches the core British values because the Government believes that doing so will make people more resilient towards attempts to radicalise them and support them with life in modern Britain.

Democracy – Learners need to show respect for democracy and support participation in democratic processes.

The rule of law – Learners should appreciate that living under the rule of law protects individual citizens and is essential for their wellbeing and safety.

Individual liberty – Enables learners to develop their self-knowledge, self-esteem and self-confidence.

Mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs and those without faith – Learners must show mutual respect and tolerance to those with different beliefs.

These essential values support individuals to become rounded and valuable members of our society.
